Port of Waterford
Waterford's Canal Harbor was completed in 2000 and includes over 600' of floating dock, another 600' of bulkhead wall, including electric, water, and pump-out services for visiting vessels. The Canal Harbor is located just below Erie Canal Lock 2, the first in a flight of 5 locks in 1 1/2 miles, which lifts vessels 170' around the Cohoes Falls - more than double the lift of the entire Panama Canal! The Waterford Visitor Center is prominent along the promenade, and has restroom and shower facilities available to the public. The interior space of the Visitor Center includes office and exhibit space, and a dock master's shop located on the lower level offers ice, marine publications, clothing items, and Waterford souvenirs. The Port is home to the annual CanalFest in May, the Waterford Steamboat Meet in July and the Waterford Tugboat Roundup in September.
